Thing #5

Well, I've created an IM profile and have, out of boredom, given three responses to the initial "hello" I received. Everyone must be busy because I'm talking to myself and no one is answering. And this is after a two-hour wait.

In my limited experience with IM, I prefer email. The IM gives you expectations of response that will be quick, which may not be the case if all the people are busy.

Anyhow, Thing #5 milestone has been achieved.

I'm so sorry your chat didn't go better. Did you try multiple people, or were all your problems associated with one session?

If all your problems happended during one session I'm wondering if communication got cut off somehow. If I'm reading your email correctly, someone initially responded with a "Hello" but then there was no follow-up. I know sometimes we walk away from our desks and a chat comes in during that time, but we wouldn't walk away in the middle of a chat. If you're interested I'd say try again and see if maybe your first chat fell victim to a technical glitch.

I opened a chat with all of the NLC persons listed, and two were "home". I had started a group chat with those two, but only one responded with the "hello". I posted 3 times over the next two hours to see if it was still working (in response to the hello), but never got a reply. No problem ... Monday must have been a busy day. I think understand how the process works, though, which is the point, I guess.
